Brakes NYC Punkcast with Realplayer videos: punkcast.com/854 Their first dates across the pond were two nights at Pianos in NYC in Oct 2005, of which this is the second. Bypassing their hit - the throbbing 'All Night Disco Party' - I've picked three songs: the vituperous I Can't Stand To Stand Beside You which appeared on that first single; Shut Us Down which is a Camper Van Beethoven cover; and NY Pie a jovial saga of Eamon's previous visit to NYC.

You can also download the songs as MP4's which play in Winamp, also ipod compatible - save the link underneath the Realplayer files. Click on "Stills" to see photos from each song.

Mailout from eil.com: The debut single from the Brakes - guitar and vocals from Eamon of British Sea Power, guitar & drums from Tom & Alex White from Electric Soft Parade and bass from Marc Beatty of The Tenderfoot. The Brakes have been hailed Brighton's answer to the Velvet Goldmine by XFM. The record is heading straight for a world record as the shortest single ever - if it gets into the top 40 that is. It's quirky, off-the-wall raw rock 'n' roll that leaves you spinning after the 23 seconds of its duration and is guaranteed to draw a hell of a lot of attention. Don't miss out buy your copies NOW!!
